Mayfield Mustangs Rugby League under 7s entered the lions den on Sunday, 27 May, as they traveled to St Helens to face Eccelston Lions.

Faced by bigger and more experienced opponents the Mayfield players defended strongly and attacked at pace as they had fun in the bright sunshine.

Bradley Schofield was the pick of the attackers as he bagged a hat trick of tries; he was closely followed by Ben Metcalf who bagged a brace and got the award for the best defender for his text book tackle technique.

Best player went to Sonny Joyce for his enthusiasm throughout the game.

The Mayfield Mustangs Rugby League under 7's are now recruiting, boys and girls are invited to come along to training for a fun introduction to Rugby League.
