Hornets secure new sponsor Rochdale Hornets are pleased to announce a new sponsor for the club. Redtree International, who are a local company, have sponsored the first team tracksuits. On behalf of the club, we would like to thank Gino Ruffell, CEO of Redtree International, and we are delighted with the new sponsorship and hope that this is the start of a long-term partnership between Hornets and Redtree International.

Kids for a Quid! Hornets are proud to offer “Kids for a Quid” at the home fixture against Workington on Sunday 3rd June 2012. With every full paying adult, supporters under 16 will be able to watch the match for just one pound, so please spread the word and bring along the Hornets’ players and supporters of the future!

Volunteers Required Rochdale Hornets is a vibrant and energetic club which has established itself as the first member owned co-operative club in the history of the Rugby League. It is a model that others are following or seeking to follow. The club is currently in its fourth season and building slowly to compete in the top flight of rugby league. As a member owned club we operate on a very small budget and believe that we can only have what we can afford and so we employ only essential staff. This means we need a lot of help from volunteers who want to see the club succeed.

You can be a part of our success story. Come and be a volunteer worker with Rochdale Hornets. You will help your club and build or add to your own CV.

All posts are undertaken on a purely voluntary basis but you will receive free entry into the match.

We have further opportunities to earn money and a season ticket through being a lottery agent.

Please visit the website to download the application form.

Ball Boys wanted! Rochdale Hornets are on the look-out for Ball Boys to help out at our remaining home fixtures this season. As a Ball Boy, you get a pitch-side view of the action, as well as performing a vital role of getting the ball back on to the pitch so play can carry on. All Ball Boys gain free entry to the match, plus 2 of their parents/guardians gain discounted entry to every fixture they attend. If you know of someone who would like to be a Ball Boy, please reply to this email or call the office on 01706 648004.

Swarm Festival The Rochdale International Tag Festival is now seeking teams for entry into the 4th Annual Tournament!

This year’s festival will take place at Firgrove, the home of Rochdale Swarm and Rochdale Cobras, on Saturday 2nd June, and is open to teams of males and females aged 14+.

Tag Rugby League is a non contact version of the sport which uses Velcro tags rather than tackling. The game is 7 a side, and teams should have 2 females on the pitch at all (tries by females count double!).

Last year 27 teams from all corners of the UK, France as well as antipodean exile teams took part in the festival which caters for competitive, social and beginner teams alike!

Emily Wynn, from organisers Rochdale Swarm, commented: 'The Tag festival is the first date in a lot of team’s diaries each year. It is a fantastic social event, with competitive opportunities aimed at every level. This year we have changed tact a little and want to make a real event of the day. We will have a bar available as well as activities for the kids to come and try out. We have lowered the entry age to 14, which will mean a lot of younger players can take to the field alongside there mums, dads and future open age team mates. We are actively looking for 'lads and dads' teams, as well as entries from combined women’s and girls' teams. For the more competitive, open age teams can have a run out against experienced tag/touch players, as the North West Men’s league has a free date that weekend. I’m getting excited already!'

The cost this year is just £5 per person, which includes festival entry, post festival food and access to the now infamous post festival party, being held this year at the Flying Horse Hotel, Rochdale.
