Former GB International set to pay a visit

Date published: 30 April 2012

Former Sheffield Eagles and Great Britain star Paul Broadbent is set to pay a visit to Rochdale this week, as he visits the Sportivate funded Heywood Tigers session taking place at Heywood Sports Village.

In 1996 Paul got the opportunity to play for Sheffield Eagles in the first ever 'Super League' in 1996 and also played in the 1998 Challenge Cup Final (and win against all the odds). Paul captained the team in the previous 3 years and lifted the cup in the cup final. It was a lifetime dream to play professional rugby league and take part in a major cup final, and for someone that had limited skill and ability, it was his work ethic, desire and commitment to making the best of himself that helped him achieve this.

The former Great Britain and England International will be on hand to assist the session alongside new Community Rugby League Coach Stuart Littler and regular coach Stuart England.
