Mayfield under 7s v St Patrick's

Date published: 26 April 2012

Mayfield under 7s travelled to Wigan last Saturday and tackled the St Patrick's club famous for producing rugby league internationals such as Sam Tomkins and Sean O'Loughlin.

The Rochdale team more than matched their experienced opponents as they enjoyed the muddy and wet conditions.

Cameron Lochery tried hard on his debut and particularly strong in defence were Morgan Pearson, Bradley Schofield and Henry Crichton-Allen. Strong fast running by Jamie Howe, Issac Reid and Ben Metcalf was topped by tries from Kyle Durrand and Harvey Hall, who scored three alone, one of which was a determined length of the field effort that left the defenders in his wake.

Mayfield under 7s return to their home base at the Mayfield Sports Centre, Castleton, this Sunday to face Latchford Albion. All rugby league fans and potential players from reception, year 1 and year 2 school years are invited down for the 10.30am kick off to see fun rugby league at it's best.
