Bon Voyage Terri! Rochdale Hornets Community Development Officer Terri Davey is all set to take up an exciting post as she looks to grow the game of rugby league in Nelson, New Zealand.
Terri has been offered and accepted the post of Regional Rugby League Development Officer in Nelson with NZRL (New Zealand Rugby League), aiming to increase participation levels across all forms of the game including clubs, schools and colleges.
Ms Davey came to Rochdale 2 years ago following a stint working with Wigan Warriors Community Foundation and has worked tirelessly to build up a reputation second to none in Rochdale. Terri has coached over 2000 children in the Borough, through FUNdamental coaching, classroom education, rugby league leaders' awards and half term skills camps, playing a pivotal role in getting children into community clubs in the Borough, as well as doubling the number of junior season ticket holders at Rochdale Hornets.
As well as working with young children, Terri has also played an influential part in ensuring Hornets meet minimum standards in their community work and achieve Clubmark Gold accreditation, as well as being a strong driving force at Littleborough Hillside Ladies, where she has played since being a junior and captained them in the recent WRLA Challenge Cup Final.
There are countless more achievements one could list, but as she leaves on Friday the above will have to do!
Terri leaves with the best wishes from all at Rochdale Hornets, the RFL North West and all members of the Bolton, Bury and Rochdale Rugby League Development Group, including Community Clubs, Service Area Coaches and everyone involved in school and club Rugby League.
Good Luck and we hope to see you again soon!
