Mayfield under 7s keen in defence

Mayfield under 7s continued their fine form in their maiden season on Sunday as they took on Eccles under 7s at Mayfield Sports Centre.

Top tackler on the day was Morgan Pearson who demonstrated a number of textbook legs tackles on her, usually bigger, opponents.

Eccles’ Issac Reid the top player for his non-stop running and tackling, and the coach's player of the match was Harvey Hall, who tackled well and scored the try of the day as he supported a Bradley Schofield run and took a great pass to jink through the line and sprint 30 metres for a fine score.

Other tries were scored by Ben Wilkinson, Ben Metcalf, Bradley Schofield and Kyle Durrand whilst top defence was on show from Sonny Joyce, Jamie Howe and Henry Allen.

Training continues on Saturday mornings 11.00am - 12 noon each Saturday at the Mayfield Sports Centre, Castleton.
