Mayfield Mustangs under 7's travelled to the Rugby League heartland of Wigan on Sunday and had fun in the sun as they scored seven tries and displayed some tenacious tackling

Mayfield Mustangs under 7's travelled to the Rugby League heartland of Wigan on Sunday and had fun in the sun as they scored seven tries and displayed some tenacious tackling.

Tries by Ben Metcalf, Bradley Schofield and Ben Wilkinson were added to a hat trick by the unstopable Harry Sheridan and the try of the match by Taylor Hartley who found a gap on the fringe of the ruck and powered through tackles to scoot in from 30 yards out leaving defenders in his wake.

Strong defence by Morgan Pearson, Jamie Howe, Harvey Hall and Kyle Durrand kept Orrell at bay and the tackle of the day went to Billy Pirouzan who saved a certain try with a shuddering effort as the Mustangs enjoyed their Sunday morning in sunny Wigan!.

Mustangs under 7's and under 8's train Saturday mornings 11.00am til 12 noon at the Mayfield Sports Centre in Castleton, and training is free for all reception, year 1, 2 and 3 children wanting to try the sport.
