Mayfield Mustangs under 7s v Golborne Parkside

Mayfield Mustangs under 7s team played their first fixture on Sunday at home to Golborne Parkside.

With an emphasis on fun, the Mayfield boys and girls had just that in the Sunday morning sun as they got to grips with their first full contact game.

Tries scored by Ben Wilkinson, Ben Metcalfe, Taylor Hartley, Harry Sheridan, Bradley Schofield, Billy Pirouzan and Kyle Durrand were added to some terrific defence by Sonny Joyce, Jamie Howe, Morgan Pearson, Issac Reid and Harvey Hall.

Kyle Durrand made the top tackle of the day as he chased down a Golborne break to stop the runner at corner flag and prevent a certain score.

The under 7s at Mayfield train each Saturday morning between 11.00am and 12 noon at the Mayfield Sports Centre in Castleton.

The sessions are free and open to all. The various groups in the sessions cater for boys and girls age 4 years and older.
