Hornets 36 - 4 London Skolars

Hornets comfortably saw off London Skolars on the opening day of the season at Spotland Stadium.
In a one-sided game, Gary Middlehurst crossed for a hat-trick of tries as Hornets made the perfect start to the new Co-operative Championship 1 season with a 36-4 victory over 12-man London Skolars - the Skolars had James Anthony dismissed after 56 minutes.
Wayne English, Paul O'Connor, Steve McDermott and Stephen Bannister also added tries for Hornets with Paul Crook kicking four goals.
Joe Price scored Skolars solitary try.
