Rochdale Premier Indoor Cricket League round up

The first round of the league is completed this Sunday. The top half of the league table looks like this: Peshawar Panthers, Rochdalians and King Lions are in first place with 14 points and Max XI on second place with 12 points. DLCC, and Bury Panthers are on third place with 10 points.

The first two matches of the league were between Peshawar Panthers and DGS in Hall 1 and Unique vs DLCC in Hall 2.

Peshawar Panthers batted first and made 151 runs in their 8 overs. Excellent batting from Mohamed Shakir 34 runs (not out), Mohammed Saif 31 runs (not out) and Saif Khan 30 runs (not out). Not a good response from DGS could only scored 84 runs all out and lost the match by 67. Only two batsmen, (Mohammed Shahbaz 15 runs and Saif Ali 13 runs) managed to score some runs. Good bowling from Mohamed Saif of Peshawar Panthers taking 2 wickets for 10 runs and Mohammed Shakir 2 wickets for 24 runs.

In the other match DLCC batted first and scored 143 runs. Excellent batting from Mohamed Saddique 64 runs (not out) and Shakeel 18 runs. In response Unique could only score 83 runs and lost the match by 60 runs. Good batting effort from Mohamed Munawar 30 runs (not out) and Afridi 10 runs. Good bowling from Mohamed Saddique taking 2 wickets for 7 runs and Abdul Quyyom 2 wickets for 17 runs.

The next two matches were between King Lions and 8 Lions and Max XI vs Bury Panthers. King Lions won the toss and decided to bat first. They scored 93 runs in their 8 overs. Good batting from Shakeel Bahia 45 runs (not out) and none of the other batsmen get into double figures. Good bowling from Sakib (taking 3 wickets for 20 runs) and Hafeez (1 wicket for 19 runs) of 8 Lions. Not a good response from 8 lions, they scored 70 runs all out and lost the match by 23 runs. Good batting effort from Saleem 12 runs and Javid 12 runs. Excellent bowling from Qaiser Ali taking 2 wickets for 12 runs and Tariq 1 wicket for 6 runs.

In the second match Max XI batted first and scored 103 runs. Good batting from Usman 22 runs and Dastaghir 19 runs. In response Bury Panthers made 75 runs all out and lost the match by 28 runs. Good batting effort from Nayer 22 runs and Hanif 16 runs. Good bowling from Rauf (taking 2 wickets for 7 runs) and Dastaghir (1 wicket for 7 runs) of Max XI.

A bye and 2 points awarded to Rochdalians this week.
