Rochdale Premier Indoor Cricket League round up

The top half of the league table is looking very interesting.

Three teams - Peshawar Panthers, Rochdalians and King Lions - are in first place with 12 points, Bury Panthers and Max XI are in second place with 10 points and DLCC and Unique are on 8 points at third place.

This week Bury Panthers played two matches as they missed their fifth match due to unforeseen circumstances. Their first match was with 8 lions. 8 Lions batted first and scored 95 runs. Good batting from Hafiz Ali 30 runs (not out) and Javid (Wicki) 14 runs. In response Bury Panthers won the match by 5 wickets. Good batting from Najabat 27 runs (not out) and Hanif 16 runs. Excellent bowling from Sajad taking 2 wickets for 16 runs and Janghir 1 wicket for 9 runs.

The next two matches of the league were between Bury Panthers and DLCC and Max XI vs DGS. Bury Panthers batted first and made 97 runs in their 8 overs. Good batting from Sajad 24 runs and Janghir 24 runs. Good bowling from Abdul Quyyom of DLCC taking 2 wickets for 15 runs and Kamran 1 wicket for 13 runs. Not a good response from DLCC could only scored 83 runs all out and lost the match by 14 runs. Only two batsmen, (Mohammed Sidiqque 18 runs and Abdul Quyyom 16 runs) managed to score some runs. Good bowling from Wasim of Bury Panthers taking 3 wickets for 6 runs.

In the other match DGS batted first and scored 109 runs. Good batting from Zeeshan 21 runs (not out) and Mohammed Shahbaz 19 runs. Excellent response from Max XI winning the match by 2 wickets and 1 over to spare. Good batting effort from Abdul Rauf 18 runs and Dastaghir 22 runs. Good bowling from Adeel of Max XI taking 1 wickets for 7 runs and Mohamed Shahzad of DGS taking 4 wickets for 33 runs.

The next two matches were between King Lions and Peshawar Panthers and Rochdalians vs Unique. King Lions won the toss and decided to bat first. They scored 85 runs in their 8 overs. Good batting from Tariq 24 runs and Shahid Baba 15 runs (not out). Poor response from Peshawar Panthers, 86 runs all out and lost the match by 26 runs. Good batting effort from Saif Khan 43 runs and Sakib Ali 11 runs. Excellent bowling from Qaiser Ali taking 3 wickets for 20 runs and Mohamed Sohail 2 wickets for 16 runs of King Lions runs.

In the second match Rochdalians batted first and scored 131 runs. Good batting from Hameed 33 runs (not out) and Arfan 27 runs (not out). Good response from Unique a very closely contested match. Unique managed to score 129 runs and end up losing the match by 2 runs. Excellent batting by Asif Saeed 31 runs (not out), Munawar 28 runs and Muazam 27 runs. Good bowling effort from Ali Shah taking 2 wickets for 24 runs.

A bye and 2 points awarded to 8 Lions this week.

Again it was a very entertaining day for the spectators and the teams.
