Rochdale Premier Indoor Cricket League round up

This week the first two matches of the league were between Bury Panthers and 8 Lions in Hall 1 and King Lions vs Max XI in Hall 2.  Bury Panthers match was cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances. So that match will be re-scheduled next year.

In the other match King Lions batted first and scored 117 runs. Excellent batting from Shahid Baba 31 runs (not out) and Tariq Mahmood 13 runs. It was good response from Max XI they needed 5 runs to win on the last ball and lost the match by 4 runs. Good batting from Abdul Rauf 27 runs and Mohammed Sultan 16 runs.  Good bowling from Qaisar Ali taking 2 wickets for 14 runs and Mohamed Amjad 2 wickets for 16 runs of King Lions.

The next two matches were between DLCC and Rochdalians and Peshawar Panthers vs Unique. DLCC won the toss and decided to bat first and scored 122 runs. Very good batting from Mohamed Saddique 51 runs (not out). In response Rochdalians could only scored 99 runs and lost the match by 23 runs.  Good batting effort from Hamid Ahmed 42 runs (not out) and Faisal Ali 16 runs.  Excellent bowling from Mohamed Iqbal taking 2 wickets for 10 runs and Mohamed Tayab 2 wickets for 22 runs.
 
In the second match Peshawar Panthers batted first and scored 107 runs. Good batting and bowling from Saqib Ali 20 runs and taking 2 wickets for 20 runs and Saif Khan 32 runs (not out) and taking 2 wickets for 18 runs. Good response from Unique losing the match by 9 runs despite excellent batting and bowling effort from Ali Shaw 29 runs (not out) and taking 3 wickets for 18 runs.

A bye and 2 points awarded to DGS this week as 8 Worriers pulled out of the league.

Again it was a very entertaining day for the spectators and the teams. All the matches were played in good sprit. Big thank from Abdul Quyyom, Tayyab and M Siddique (Organisers). They also appreciated all the help given by volunteers and in particular, Mohamed Sarfraz and Mohamed Saqib helping with scoring duties.
