Rochdale Premier Cricket League round up

This week the first two matches of the league were between Rochdalians vs DGS in Hall 1 and 8 Worriers vs Bury Panthers in Hall 2. An easy win for Rochdalians this week. Batting first, Rochdalians scored 130 runs off 8 overs with good batting from Hamid 32 runs (not out) and Imran 17 runs. DGS were bowled out for 38 runs with excellent bowling from Hafeez taking 3 wickets for 3 runs. In the other match 8 Worriers again failed to turn up and Bury Panthers awarded 2 points.
The next two matches were between Unique vs Max XI and Peshawar Panthers vs 8 Lions. Max XI batted first and scored 66 runs, their main contributors were Dastaghir 18 runs (not out) and Yasir 17 runs. In response Unique made 67 runs and won the match with 4 wickets. Good batting from Afridi 22 runs and Mo 10 runs. In the second match 8 Lions batted first and were bowled out for 50 runs despite a good effort from Hafeez with 12 runs. In response Peshawar Panthers won the match with 7 wickets. Good batting from Khan 21 runs (not out) and Zahid 14 runs also a good bowling performance from Sakib taking 2 wickets for 13 runs and Saif 1 wicket for 7 runs.
The final match of the day was between DLCC and King Lions. King Lions batted first and only managed to score 70 runs. In response DLCC won the match with 5 wickets. Excellent batting from Irfan 19 runs and Guffran 14 runs (not out) and a good bowling performance from Quyyom taking 3 wickets for 12 runs and Gurffran taking 2 wickets for 12 runs.
Again it was a very entertaining day for the spectators and the teams. All the matches were played in good sprit. Thanks from organisers Abdul Quyyom, Tayyab and M Siddique, they appreciated all the help given by volunteers and in particular Tayyab, and Faisal helping with umpiring and scoring duties.
