Mayfield preview

Westhoughton Lions are the visitors to the Mayfield sports centre this afternoon in a NWC division 4 game with the Mayfield academy side.

The visitors have had a hit and miss season so far wit three wins from eight starts compared to Mayfield’s two wins from five, so a tight game is anticipated.

Mayfield were on the end of a hiding last week at in form Wild Boar whereas the visitors went down at home to Eccleston.

The academy team have stepped up their training regime with Simon Howe coming in to assist Joe Harte with the coaching duties.

Their first session on Tuesday was a successful one with a good turnout preparing for today’s game.

There are also a couple of new signings so the team is confident of a good performance and hoping to get back to winning ways.
