Mayfield preview

Mayfield are hoping this weekend’s games favour them with a little better fortune than they met with last week.

The first team are away at Milford who are currently enjoying a successful run, lying second in their division. This will be a tough ask for a Mayfield side who are not exactly setting their division on fire.

Simon Moore will be available for selection today after serving his two match suspension apart from that it will be much the same side as last week. The lads will be hoping to put the Saddleworth game behind them and recapture some sort of form before the end of this short season.

The Alliance team are also away today with a short trip to Saddleworth, the two teams met three weeks ago with Mayfield taking a thrilling victory in an entertaining game of rugby.

Last week’s cancelled game means that the lads who were carrying knocks have had a chance to recover and Coach Ashworth will have a full squad to select from.

The NWC side have a home fixture against West Houghton. The Lancashire side have won one game so far this season as have Mayfield so an even game is anticipated.

The Mayfield lads will have learned a lot from last week’s game against superior opposition and will be expected to put it in to play this afternoon.
