Businesses back Hollingworth in their bid for national success

Hollingworth Business and Enterprise College Year 9 girls' rugby league team this week attended Rochdale Hornets V Oldham Roughyeds match as guests of the Bolton, Bury and Rochdale Rugby League Development Group, and were presented to the crowd at half time along with their sponsors in recognition of their success in the Carnegie Champion Schools Competition.

The team is busy preparing for the Carnegie Champion Schools National final where they will take on their fierce rivals Castleford High school to become National champions as part of the Carnegie Challenge Cup weekend.

Link4Life's Rochdale Community Rugby League Coach Danny Pyke has been assisting Mr Sean Brown with the coaching in the build up to the final.

Mr Pyke, said: "Castleford High school are one of the girls' toughest rivals, we have trained well in the run up to the final as long as we keep our composure and keep strong in defence as the girls have already proven they can do time and time again, the cup is there for the taking."

The team and the Bolton, Bury and Rochdale Rugby League Development Group would like to thank the following sponsors who have helped the girls raise £5,000 and make the trip to London possible:

The girls will be playing at the Twickenham Stoop, home of Super League club Harlequins, on Friday 26 August at 2.15pm and would welcome those of you down for the weekend to come and give them a cheer.
