Littleborough are tag champs

Littleborough Starmix have won the summer tag rugby league series – making it a double for the club after their first team won the spring title.

The team played against Rochdale Swarm in the final on Firgrove playing fields and walked away the winners.

The tag series has been described by organisers as a “big success.”

Around one hundred players have taken part over the three month competition period; several players have signed up for full contact teams as a result.

Several of the players who played in the final will play for the Swarm in the latest tag festival in Doncaster on Saturday (16 July).

Anyone who wants to play on Saturday should meet at Firgrove Workers at 8:45am on Saturday morning.

Everyone involved in the Rochdale Tag Series would like to thank Hornets Development officer Terri Davy who has helped referee, organise and play over the three months.
