Bamford-Fieldhouse u15s 150-1 - Moorside ‘B’ 34 all out

After winning the toss, Bamford decided to bat and the opening pair of Alex Willis and Callum Belfield put on 19 before Belfield was caught by Murphy off the bowling of Harmer for 10.
Abbu Alam and Willis then put the Moorside bowling to the sword and had put on 98 before Alam retired with 50 from only 35 deliveries. When the final over came round, Willis was still 10 short of his fifty but clever work by Sam Halligan (14 not out) got him on strike and he was able to blast the runs he needed for his 50.
151 always looked a difficult target for the very young Moorside team and after 6 overs of miserly slow bowling from Joe Smith-Butler and Adam Ahmed they were on 5 for 3 wickets.
Humza Malik’s left arm seam bowling proved equally as difficult to get away before Joe Mitchell took 4 wickets for 5 runs from his first over which included a hat trick with the final three deliveries. This effectively finished the game although Lord and Pollinger defended stoutly and managed to put on 15 for the last wicket before Lord perished, caught by Willis off the bowling of Jack Langford.
Bamford's fielding was exemplary with three catches for Ben Durrant and one apiece for Ahmed, Malik and Willis.
Bamford’s unbeaten run in the league is still intact with this emphatic victory and hopefully they will take their good form into the Cup semi-final against old rivals Saddleworth ‘A’.
