Bamford-Fieldhouse 93-7 - Micklehurst 16-3 (Home)
Date published: 21 June 2011
Bamford Fieldhouse Cricket Club
Micklehurst made a great start and after 9 overs, Bamford were 25 for 5 with Dooley taking 3 wickets for 8 in his first 4 overs. The arrival of Ben Durrant to partner Joe Smith-Butler brought some stability to the innings and after the opener went for 20, Durrant was joined by Callum Belfield and the pair put on 18. When Durrant (15) was well caught by Daniels in the gully, Belfield (38 not out) broke loose and the final partnership put on 38 to set a very competitive target of 94 from 18 overs.
As the Micklehurst innings started, the rain began to fall but Ahmed Nawaz produced a fearsome spell of fast bowling to remove 3 of the batsmen for 8 runs. Unfortunately as the rain started to fall harder, the players were forced to leave the field and what looked like being a great match had to be abandoned.
