Celebration for girls' rugby team

The girls' rugby team from Hollingworth Business and Enterprise College are celebrating after reaching a second national final in three years.
The girls will place on 26 August 2011 at The Twickenham Stoop, home of Harlequins RL against a very strong Castleford High School, the current Carnegie National Champions Schools champions.
The girls’ quest for national success began back in March when they entered the preliminary round in the North West, they breezed through this stage by winning all 4 games, in the processes scoring 22 tries and conceding 0.
The next stage saw the girls play the elite teams from the North West in a round robin format; again the girls were successful winning all 4 of their games, this time scoring 12 tries and only conceding 1.
To complete the trilogy in the North West, the girls took part in the North West Final, where they played De La Salle High School of St Helens. They were crowned North West Champions for the 2nd consecutive year, by thrashing the St.Helens school 44-0.
The girls were then invited to the National Festival, where they played schools from London, Birmingham, Cumbria and Yorkshire. The girls were outstanding all day and won 4 matches and drawing their final match against Castleford High School 0-0. They convincing beat everyone else to claim their place in the Final in London.
Mr Brown, the girls head coach said: "The success of the girls rugby team at Hollingworth has created a real buzz of excitement and the whole college is so proud of them, to reach one national final was amazing, but to do it for a 2nd time in only 3 years is credit for their massive hard work and effort throughout the year, well done girls.”
Mr Brown and the staff are all said to be very “proud” and wish the team good luck in the final.
Congratulations go to all the girls: Holly Coburn, Courtney Burrell, Shannon Laycock, Alex James, Patsy Lindley, Sophie Holden, Jessica Hopkins, Courtney Steele, Hannah Kenton, Armani Khaliq, Chloe Webster, Lauren Emmett, Beth Land, Holly Mellor, Holly Richardson and Rachel Warburton.
The college, in association with the Bolton, Bury and Rochdale Rugby League Development Group, are looking to raise funds for the trip. Sponsorship packages are available for all businesses, clubs and associations willing to contribute in whatever way they can. Any sponsor will receive there logo on the girls Finals T-Shirt and will also be invited to a corporate hospitality day at Spotland, where they will be presented to the crowd before the game.
The school is also raising funds through the RFL Community Game Raffle, with proceeds contributing towards the school trip.
