Rochdale Hornets have received the seal of approval from Sport England and the Rugby Football League, achieving Clubmark Gold standard.
Hornets become only the second professional club in the North West to achieve the award, with Super League giants St Helens the other.
The award is made to clubs who meet a wide variety of stringent minimum operating standards in fields such as coaching, child welfare, ground safety and community development.
Hornets Chairman, Mark Wynn said: 'We are very proud to be awarded Clubmark Gold status.
“Thanks to the hard work of our development team headed up by Terri Davey our Development Officer, and those running the club behind the scenes, as well as the assistance from Ryan Bradley.
“This award is just another indication the club is moving in the right direction. It's particularly gratifying to know that only St. Helens and ourselves are the only pro clubs in the North West to have attained Clubmark Gold status.”
John McMullen, Clubmark lead for the North West added: “Hornets have worked extremely hard over the last 12 months to achieve this award. The club is doing some fantastic work with schools, community clubs and the wider community around Rochdale and the Clubmark Gold award shows to the whole community that the club is going about things in the right way.”
Hornets will be presented with their award by RFL European Development Director Neil Wood at this Sunday’s 'Help for Heroes' game, which will see the Rochdale Town Team take on the Royal Navy, followed by the Rochdale Hornets Vs Gateshead Thunder Championship 1 fixture at Spotland.
All current and ex service personnel will be admitted to the game free of charge (on production of a valid ID card).
