Raise the Roof at Dale

Date published: 01 February 2008

In an intitative to attract more and new supporters, Rochdale Football Club have, after consultation with the Football League, moved their fixture against Accrington Stanley from Saturday 15 March to the following day Sunday 16 March with a 2.00pm kick off.

The club have explained that the main reason for the change is a desire to make Spotland more intimidating for visiting teams. It was noted at the recent Lincoln game how flat everything felt and the club want to give Keith Hill and his team as much vocal support as possible, therefore the Accrington match will now be refered to as the 'Raise the Roof Match' and the club is discounting entrance fees to just £10.00 for adults and £3.00 concessions on the day in the WMG Stand. Moreover, season ticket holders from any part of the ground can transfer for the game into the WMG stand.

The aim is to fill the WMG Stand for this match and make it just like the the away end at Gigg Lane when Dale are in Bury, always a vociferous occassion!

This is one of a series of initiatives that the club are arranging to cover the Hereford, Wycombe and
Chesterfield games as well.
