Rochdale Premier Cricket League – week 19 round up

This week only 2 matches were played. Rochdalians wons against 8 Stars and Speed Stars won against Thornham CC. RYCC and Paradise Stars failed to turn up for their matches.

First match of the day was between Rochdalians and 8 Stars. Rochdalians batted first and made 112 runs in their 8 overs. An excellent batting from Atif 31 runs (not out), Malik 27 runs and Asif 24 runs (not out). Despite excellent batting from Irfan 32 runs (not out) 8 Stars lost the match by 16 runs. Good bowling from all Rochalians bowlers. With this win Rochdalians join Rochdale Lions at the 1st position.

Second match was won by Speed Stars against Thornham CC. Thornham CC batted first and could only manage to score 69 runs in their 8 overs against excellent bowling of Speed Stars. Only Chris 19 runs and Aaron 16 runs (not out) got into double figures. In response Speed Stars won the match by 6 wickets and 3 overs to spare. Excellent batting by Saif 34 runs (not out), and Rauf 13 runs. with this win Speed Stars moved to 2nd place just 1 point behind the joint leaders Rochdalians and Rochdale Loins

Next two matches were cancelled as RYCC and Paradise Stars failed to turn up for their matches and given 2 easy points to Rochdale Lions and Unique respectively.

Next week will be very tense as four teams are battling to win the league and there is only 1 point difference between them.
