Hornets 40 - 20 London Skolars

Date published: 27 March 2011

Despite being behind three times against London Skolars at Spotland, Hornets put in a superb second half performance to record a comfortable 40-20 victory.

After being behind to an early try, Hornets pegged Skolars back until close to half time when Skolars scored a converted try to take the lead again.

Hornets came back again and scored just before half-time, to take a 12-10 lead into the break.

Skolars Ade Adebisi went over early in the second half but then Hornets took command of the game, Skolars having no answer to the powerful running of man-of-the-match Andrew Saywell.

Hornets ran in a further five second half tries: Paul Crook scored a try and added five goals, with Craig Ashall, John Cookson, Dale Bloomfield and Danny Ekis also going over for Hornets. Liam McGovern kicked a further goal.
