Mayfield continued their impressive form with a hard fought win against third placed Rylands in this premiership clash.

Rylands opened the scoring when a kick into the in goal wasn't dealt with an Rylands winger pounced to score an unconverted try.

The host's defence was solid as Rylands were met by some crunching tackles this enabled Mayfield to get on top of their opposition.

Kevin Wetshokonda got on the score sheet when he collected a kick from inside his own half then sidestepped his way past a couple of defenders to leave himself a clear run to the line, Higginson converted.

On attack Mayfield's forwards were running strong and the backs were creating space out wide after some good passing moves.

This enabled Mayfield to increase their lead when Higginson dummied & stepped his way through to dive in under the posts, he also converted his own try.
The team goal defensively of no line breaks was achieved and from start to finish, this collective effort in defence laid the platform for this victory.

Post match awards went to Man of the Match Richard Duckworth, Man of steel Joel Pearson, Coach Award went to the whole team for another solid performance.

Mayfield travel to Wigan St Patricks for their last game of the season.

They are aiming for a top four finish after securing their place in the top division with 3 wins from their last 3 outings.

A win for the visitors could send the home team down, so this will be another very competitive game for the boys.
