Rochdale Premier Cricket League – week 12 round up

Unique and Paradise Stars are in action again to claim the top spot in the league. Unique won their match and re-claimed the number one spot but Paradise Stars have a game in hand to become the joint leader with Unique. In other matches good win for Speed Stars against Paradise Stars, Bury Panthers won against Thornham CC, Rochdale Lions won against 8 Lions and 8 Stars against Punjab.

The first match of the day was between Bury Panthers and Thornham CC. Bury Panthers batted first and made 123 runs in their 8 overs. Good batting from Ikraam 31 runs (not out), Zulfi 20 runs (not out) and Hanif 17 runs. In response Thornham CC could only managed to score 113 runs and lost the match by 10 runs. Good bowling from Bury Panthers bowlers.

The second match was won by 8 Stars against Punjab by 60 runs. 8 Stars batted first and scored 134 runs in their 8 overs. Good batting from Tariq 31 runs (not out), Faisal 24 runs and Bukahri 18 runs. In response Punjab was bowled out for 74 runs giving an extra bowling point to 8 Stars. Good bowling from Sakib taking 2 wickets for 5 runs and Bukhari 2 wickets for 7 runs.

The next match was between Speed Stars and Paradise Stars. Speed Stars batted first and made 133 runs. Again excellent batting from Yasir 30 runs (not out), Rauf 28 runs and Sultan 16 runs (not out). In response Paradise Stars made 115 runs and lost the match by 19 runs. Despite good batting from Chand 30 runs (not out), Shahid (Jimmy) 30 runs (not out) unable to save the match for Paradise Stars.

The next match was between Rochdale Lions and 8 Lions. Rochdale Lions batted first and scored 151 runs Excellent batting from Dastaghir 30 runs (not out), Tayyab 24 runs (not out) and Shahid 20 runs. Despite good batting from Hafeez 26 runs and Saleem 26 runs unable to save the match and lost the match by 40 runs. Excellent bowling from Dastaghir 4 wickets for 12 runs won the match for Rochdale Lions

Another win for Unique against RYCC. Batting first Unique made 119 runs in 8 overs. Good batting from Zubair 31 runs (not out) and Munawar 20 runs. Despite good batting from Iftikhar 33 runs, Quyyom 21 runs (not out) and Gufran 19 runs RYCC lost the match by 8 runs.

The next match was between Lahore Rangers and 8 Lions. Lahore Rangers batted first and made 129 runs. Good batting from Adil 32 runs (not out), Ansar 23 runs and Numan 19 runs. In response 8 Lions made 127 runs and lost the match by 2 runs. good fight by 8 Lions batsmen, Hafeez making 30 runs (not out), Khawaja 22 runs and Saleem 20 runs.

The last match of the day was between RYCC and Max 11. RYCC batted first and made 161 runs in their 8 overs. Good batting from Iftikhar 31 runs (not out), Tayyab 30 runs (not out) and Asim Butt 26 runs. Despite good batting from Sajjad 31 runs (not out) Max 11 lost the match by 49 runs. An excellent bowling from Gufran, taking 2 wickets for 17 runs and Quyyom 1 wicket for 8 runs.
