All hands to the pump for town team

The Rochdale and District Amateur Rugby League Association's Town Team will take to the field this Sunday (30 January 2011) in a charity match against the Great Britain Fire Brigade.
The Fire Brigade will be fielding a strong team in preparation for their upcoming 'Skanska' Cup fixtures against other public service teams, as well as looking to raise money for the Fire Fighters Charity.
Sammy Samson, vice chair of the ARL said: “The Town Team is always on the look out for quality fixtures and when the fire service contacted me about a warm up game and raising money for the fire fighters charity as well, we jumped at the chance.”
Dave Ramsbottom, head coach added: “The lads played really well against Rochdale Hornets over Christmas and we hope they can take this form forward against the fire service. The lads have trained really well this week and we are hoping that everything will click into place for this week’s game and we can get a win under our belts.”
The game will again take place at Mayfield Sports Centre, Castleton on Sunday 30 January, 2pm KO. Admission is pay on the gate with ticket prices £4 adults, £3 concessions and under 16s free.
The fire service are looking to bring there display emergency vehicles which will be available for children and adults to inspect prior to the match.
