Rochdale Premier Cricket League – week 10 round up

Top two teams (Unique, and Paradise Stars) kept their winning momentum going and won their games to claim the top spot in the league. Paradise Stars took 3 points form their game to become joint leader with Unique at the top. Good wins for RYCC, Rochdalians, Bury Panthers and Speed Stars.

First match of the day was between Bury Panthers and Lahore Rangers. Bury Panthers batted first and made 135 runs in their 8 overs. Good batting from Rizwan 27 runs (not out) and Imran 16 runs. Lahore Rangers could not control extras and gave away 64 runs. In response Lahore Rangers managed to score 111 runs and lost the match by 24 runs. an excellent batting from Adil 32 runs (not out) and Numan 24 runs could not save the match.

Second match was won by Rochdalians against 8 Stars by 26 runs. Rochdalians batted first and scored 128 runs in their 8 overs. Good batting from Faisal 28 runs, Malik 23 runs (not out) and Atif 18 runs. Despite good batting from Tariq 30 runs (not out), Muti 18 runs and Faisal 15 runs 8 Stars lost the match by 15 runs. Good bowling from Haji Zafar taking 2 wickets for 6 runs, and Atif 2 wickets for 21 runs.

Next match was between RYCC and 8 Lions. RYCC batted first and made 132. Again excellent batting from Guffran 31 runs (not out) Tayyab 30 runs (not out) and Siddique 16 runs. In response 8 Lions made 123 runs and lost the match by 10 runs, an excellent batting from Ali 54 runs (not out) and Tabraiz 17 runs (not out). Good bowling by Tayyab taking 2 wickets for 9 runs and Illyas 2 wikcets for 30 runs.

An easy win for Speed Stars against Punjab. Speed Stars batted first and scored 153 runs. Again a good batting performance from Rauf 31 runs (not out) and Yasir 30 runs (not out). In response Punjad only managed to score 113 runs and lost the match by 40 runs. Good bowling from Khan taking 3 wickets for 9 runs.

Another win for Paradise Stars this week against Max 11. Batting first Max 11 was bowled out for 92 runs in 7.2 overs. Apart from Zeeshan 34 runs, none of the batsmen contributed much to the total. Paradise Stars won the match by 5 wickets and 2 overs to spare. Good batting from Aqeel 30 runs (not out) and captain Shahid 22 runs (not out). With this win Paradise Stars are joint leader at the 1st place with Unique.

Last match of the day was between Unique and Rochdale Lions. Unique batted first and made 121 runs in their 8 overs. Good batting from Afridi 33 runs (not out), Iqbal 30 runs (not out) and Noman 18 runs (not out). Despite good batting from Abdur Rehman 29 runs, Tayyab 17 runs and Zubair 15 runs Rochdale Loins lost the match by 11 runs. With this win Unique became joint leader at no.1 spot.

Abdul Quyyom and M Siddique appreciated and thanked all the volunteers particularly Tayab, Haji Asif, Haji Zafar, and Sakib for helping with umpiring and scoring duties.
