Mayfield preview

Mayfield NWC entertain Saddleworth at the Mayfield Sports Centre this afternoon (Saturday 15 January 2011).

Saddleworth beat Mayfield in the away fixture earlier in the season, and are currently mid table. However they have only played six games and lost two so this could be a false indicator of how good they are. One thing for sure they will be no pushovers.

After last weeks fantastic performance against the Cobras confidence is certainly running high for the home team and the coaches are asking for more of the same when they step out onto the pitch today.

With a full squad to select from Ashworth and Connelly will be putting out their strongest seventeen in an attempt to secure the victory.

The coaches commented: “For the first time last week all the points came from the backs which just goes to show the expansive rugby the lads are playing, we are moving the ball all over the pitch and creating gaps that are now being exploited.

“We are looking for the same commitment and dedication this week and are confident the lads will respond.”
