North West Counties Under 18’s League - Division 1

Rochdale under 18’s entertained top of the league Golbourne Parkside at Mayfield on Sunday (31 October 2010) morning and the visitors showed their pedigree and a ruthless streak.

Rochdale welcomed back a couple of players from injury, but seemed unable to gel as a team in the opening period which saw Golbourne build up a commanding first half lead.

A stirring second half rally came from the local lads, typified by the tireless Moustafa Emra and David Richardson, who both played 80 minutes at prop, and the wider pace and strong running of centre Tom Andrews and second row Sean Mulcahy, as Rochdale began to talk and believe in themselves.

It was too late though as Golbourne managed to hold on in the second period to, in the end, comfortably take the points.

The team are still recruiting players old and new as training now moves to Mayfield new gym facility on Mondays at 5.30pm and the 3g all weather at Matthew Moss High School on Thursdays at 6pm.any interested players should contact Simon on 07920865106 for further details.
