Hornets comeback not enough at Oldham

Rochdale Hornets staged a spirited second half comeback against local rivals Oldham but it wasn't enough and the Roughyeds prevailed 22-16.

Oldham's tries came from Rochdale-based Luke Sutton, Michael Fogerty, Mark Brocklehurst and Matty Ashe, who also added three crucial goals.

Hornets, who trailed 18-4 at the break, made a fight of it with Craig Johnson, Gareth Hayes and Phil Wood on their scoresheet but the Roughyeds held on to maintain their 100% record.
