Events: Some quick reminders about forthcoming events and fundraisers

Quiz Night: We have the return of Wendys popular quiz nights! The first of which is on Thursday the 8th of April with an 8.30pm start at the Tanners Arms at the bottom of Whitworth Road.
These are always great fun and at only £2 per team member (max 4 members per team) they wont break the bank. So get swotting!

Hornets Race Night: With us being knocked out of the Challenge Cup by French Champions Lezignan it frees up the weekend when the 4th round ties are to be played.
So as to raise much needed funds for the club and to have a great time while we do it, Hornets have arranged a Fun Race Night at the Radcliffe Arms on Friday 16 April with an 8.00pm start. The Hornets squad and coaching Staff will be there. It promises to be a great night with all the usual activities of a Race Night plus a few Hornets additions to make for a fun and hopefully profitable night for the club.

Supporters can sign up as Owners (£5), Trainers (£3) and Jockeys (£2) or Race Sponsors (£50) today! If you can take a Race Sheet into your work place, Church Group, School etc and sell that would be fantastic. Sheets are available from the office, or see a member of staff or board member for more details.

This Race Night can, with your support, make a sizable amount of money for Hornets, so please support this event.

Hornets "A Question of Sport" Night: We are just waiting final confirmation of the date of this new and exciting Hornets event.
But you can be assured of a night of fun and entertainment!

Hornets Gala Dinner: We are having a total revamping of what was the end of season function. After consultation with Head Coach John Stankevitch the Hornets Gala Dinner will now be on Friday September 10 during the play off series, which we are sure to be part of.

The dinner will celebrate what we have already achieved and what we hope we will achieve during 2010. Full details will be released throughout the season.

Stop Press - Adam Wayne
Hornets Head Coach has issued this statement about our young winger Adam Wayne.

We are all very disappointed to hear that one of the younger members of the Hornets squad for 2010, pacey winger, Adam Wayne, suffered a double leg fracture playing for his local team on Saturday afternoon.

It was agreed 2 weeks ago that as well as being a member of the squad, it would be beneficial for Adam's development, to continue to play regular rugby in order to put the skills that he is learning at training with Hornets, to the test as often as possible.

Unfortunately, the freak injury has more than likely ended his season.

On a positive note, the progress that has been made by Adam and our younger members of the squad, including Andy Hore and Andy Taylor has been excellent, and if they continue to improve and show the same attitude as they have for the past 5 months then I expect them to be involved with the Hornets for a long time.

As a club, we send our best wishes to Adam for a speedy recovery.
