Rochdale Premier Cricket League round up

Wins for Max XI and Stoney Stars over Baba XI and Unique. RYCC also took two points this week. Both with 24 points, RYCC and Max XI are still joint leaders at the top. Stoney Stars kept the 2nd place with 20 points and Baba XI moved to 3rd place with 18 points.

Lahore Greens versus Rochdalians, Lahore Green won the toss and invited Rochdalians to bat. An excellent start from Rochdalians batsmen, all their batsmen scoring runs. Asif 45 runs (not out), Hameed 32 runs and Malik 27 runs. Rochdalians managed to score 152 runs in 8 overs. Good response from Lahore Greens, top 3 of their batsmen scored double figures, Amjad 19 runs, Asif 15 runs and Zaffar 14 runs, but none of the other batsmen contributed towards the total and Lahore Greens lost the match by 68 runs. Asif of Rochdalians was declared man of the match for his 45 runs not out.

Stoney Stars versus Unique, Stoney Stars won the toss and elected to bat. A very good batting display from all of the Stoney Stars batsmen; Rauf 33 runs (not out), Wasim 29 runs, Shakir 15 runs and a partnership of 24 runs between Saif and Muskan. Stoney Stars managed to score 133 runs in their 8 overs. Despite good batting from Afridi scoring 30 runs (not out), Saleem 29 runs and Noman 18 runs, Unique lost the match by 15 runs. Rauf of Stoney Stars won man of the match for his 33 runs.

Max XI versus Baba XI, it was crucial match for both of the teams, Max XI to stay at the top and Baba XI to keep second place. Max XI won the toss and elected to bat. A very good start from Max XI, Zohib 31 runs (not out) Rashid 23 runs and Shohib 22 runs (not out). Max XI scored 114 runs in their 8 overs. Not a good start from Baba XI, losing three of their batsmen for only 5 runs. A good partnership between Dastghir 42 runs and Iftikhar 18 runs gave them hope to win the match. Babas XI lost two quick wickets in the next over and match swung in Max XI’s favour. Baba XI needed 14 runs in the last over to win the match and they could only manage to score 12 runs and lost the match by 2 runs, another nail biting finish. With this win Max XI kept the top spot alongside RYCC with 24 points. Zohib of Max XI was given man of the match for his excellent 31 runs and 1 wicket for 4 runs.

RYCC versus All Stars, two easy points for RYCC as All Stars failed to turn up. RYCC keepingthe top spot with 24 points.

Next week will be very crucial for both of the top teams to determine the clear league winner and it will be the last week of the league.
