Hopwood Hall College have announced they are to launch a martial arts/karate academy, which will be run in conjunction with the prominent Rochdale-based ‘Kaizen-Do Karate’, in August.

Students who attend the Academy will learn karate on a weekly basis and have access to Kaizen-Do’s growing timetable of classes - whilst at the same time completing an academic qualification in sport.

Hopwood Hall College’s Curriculum Leader for Sports Academies, Dean Kimpton said: “We are delighted to welcome on-board Kaizen-Do Karate to be involved in running this unique martial arts/karate academy. The link-up between Kaizen-Do Karate and the College is fantastic. We’re look forward to a very successful working relationship in the years to come”.

Kaizen-Do Karate has a team of instructors who offer classes seven days a week from their permanent venue in Rochdale, all of whom are said to be looking forward to teaching the new students in September.

Chief Coach Sensei Dervish commented: “This is a tremendous opportunity for all parties involved, but most importantly the students, who will receive tuition across many martial arts whilst also working towards a vocational qualification”.
