Rochdale manager Keith Hill was pleased with his side's display at Aldershot.
Rochdale manager Keith Hill was pleased with his side's performance in the 1-1 draw at Aldershot in midweek and said that on another night Dale could have come away with all three points.
Dale took the lead midway through the second half thanks to Chris Dagnall's fine finish but they were pegged back with just three minutes left to play as Louie Soares pounced inside the six yard box to earn his side a point.
Hill said: "The result increases our lead at the top to six points and I thought it was a great performance, especially in the second half.
"In the first half Aldershot's shape and formation stopped us from creating too much but we were never in any trouble.
"The second half was excellent after they changed their formation to 4-4-2. That suited us down to the ground and we created opportunities. We scored a marvellous goal but theirs was a good goal as well and sometimes you have to give credit to the opposition.
"Our goal was a tremendous goal and then Chris Dagnall had a tremendous opporunity and we could have won 2-0 but to come to Aldershot on a Tuesday night after the preparation we have had over the last two weeks I'm more than happy to get a point."
