Spotland to host women's cup final

The final of the FA Tesco Women's Premier League Cup will be held at Rochdale's home ground, Spotland.

2008 winners Everton will play Leeds Carnegie in the final at the home of the current League Two leaders on Thursday 11 February, kick off 7pm.

This Final will be the third FA game to be staged at Spotland Stadium this season after two England Women’s U19 European qualifiers were staged there in September, a 4-0 victory over Belarus and a 1-1 draw with Norway.

"We are delighted to be bringing this showpiece match to the north west where we are increasingly seeing more girls and women playing the game," said Thura Win, Chairman of The FA Tesco Women's Premier League. "Having recently brought two England Women's U19 games to Rochdale we know Spotland Stadium is a terrific venue with first-class facilities.

"Rochdale are enjoying a fantastic season in League Two and we hope that many of the club's supporters come to Spotland to see some of the most talented and exciting footballers in the women's game."

Rochdale’s Chief Executive, Colin Garlick, said: "Rochdale AFC is delighted to host The FA Women’s Premier League Cup Final. We have recently hosted two women’s internationals and it is an honour to now be hosting our third such high-profile event in the women’s game. We look forward to welcoming the supporters of both Everton and Leeds Carnegie to Spotland Stadium as well as neutral supporters looking to enjoy a sporting and entertaining game.”

Tickets for the match are priced £5 for adults and £2.50 for concessions, or in a group booking at £3 for adults and £2 for under-16s. Contact the Rochdale AFC ticket hotline on 0844 826 1907 (Option 8).
