Indoor midweek cricket league returns
Date published: 20 November 2009
Rochdale based sports organisation BASAF is planning a second season of the indoor midweek cricket league. After a very successful first season BASAF promises the new season will be "even more competitive because we have this year invited teams throughout the North West to participate".
The indoor midweek cricket league is scheduled to start in early December and it is anticipated will run up to March 2010. Alongside the Premier League, Basaf is also organising an “Alternative League”, this is for people who want to join in and have fun also to take a bit of exercise along the way and not to take it too “seriously.”
A spokemans for BASAF said: "All sections of the community are welcome along with cricket clubs from different leagues to make it even more competitive.
"If you are interested in registering a team in the indoor midweek league please contact Khalid (see below) for further information.
"We are in the early stages of setting up a mini league for ladies please note if individuals want to join the 'Alternative League' or the ladies cricket league we will endeavour to try to put you into a team so come and join in the fun and meet other people.
"The whole point is if we can get people involved in a little exercise and also gelling together hopefully this will have a positive impact in general which will lead to a healthier life style."
