League One winger joins Dale on loan
Date published: 18 September 2009
With news of an injury crisis coming out of Spotland, Rochdale manager Keith Hill has moved to strengthen his squad with the signing of a league one winger.
Simon Whaley has joined Dale on a one month loan deal from Norwich City and comes straight into the squad for tomorrow's trip to Northampton Town.
The 24-year-old started his career at Bury before moving to Preston for £250,000 in 2006. He joined Norwich this summer but has not featured for the Canaries since Paul Lambert took over from Brian Gunn as manager at Carrow Road.
Keith Hill is still sweating on the fitness of strikers Chris Dagnall and Chris O'Grady, so Whaley could come straight into the starting line-up tomorrow with current wingers Will Buckley or Joe Thompson forced to fill the void up front.
