Two squads from the Hopwood Hall College Football Academy
Two squads from the Hopwood Hall College Football Academy and Enrichment football teams recently travelled to Eindhoven in the Netherlands to compete in the largest youth football tournament in the country.
The Hopwood teams were in good company alongside squads from Nottingham Forrest, Oldham Athletic and FC Malmo and were able to do their pre-tournament training sessions on the fantastic Eindhoven University training pitches.
The tournament was a resounding success with Hopwood’s A-team finishing unbeaten in five games and only conceding one goal in the entire tournament. The B-team narrowly missed out on topping their group on day one (by one goal) which meant they went into the final on the next day, which they also comfortably won.
The students and staff went on to visit Eindhoven and Amsterdam, including a tour around the PSV Eindhoven stadium.
