First point on the board for Town
Date published: 12 August 2009
Rochdale Town recovered from Saturday's drubbing at the hands of AFC Liverpool to pick up their first point of the new campaign at Oldham Town.
An injury time equaliser from James Greenhalgh earned Rochdale a share of the spoils following a much improved performance.
Oldham started the game brightly and could have been ahead in the first minute. An Oldham forward latched on to a weak back pass but couldn't finish.
The home side pushed on but Town contained them to the half time break and then posed more of threat themselves in the second half.
Against the run of play, Oldham took the lead but Rochdale's heads didn't drop and they pushed hard for the equaliser. It may have been late in coming but it was much deserved for a hard working Town outfit.
Town are on the road again this Saturday when they travel to Wigan Robin Park.
