Cup finalists to visit Spotland

Date published: 08 June 2009

Rochdale will play FA Cup finalists Everton in a pre-season friendly at Spotland, three days before they face Premier League champions and Champions League finalists Manchester United.

The Merseyside club, who finished fifth in the Premier League, will play Dale on Saturday 18 July, kick off 3pm.

An away game at Rossendale United was originally scheduled for that date but that fixture has been provisionally re-arranged for Wednesday 29 July at 7.30pm.

Before the showpiece pre-season games, the Dale squad will spend a week at a training camp in Marbella, which has become an annual event under Keith Hill's tenure.

That trip will include a behind closed doors friendly against Peterborough before Dale travel to Radcliffe Borough on Wednesday 15 July, 7.30pm kick off, for their first friendly in this country.

The team round off their pre-season with a game at home to Blackpool on Saturday 25 July and a trip to Southport on Saturday 1 August.
