Chester confident game will get green light

Date published: 03 February 2009

Club officials at Chester City are confident that tonight's game against Rochdale will go ahead despite the adverse weather.

The referee will arrive at the Deva Stadium earlier than scheduled to check the pitch but Chester believe that once a thin coating of snow has been removed it will be playable.

Keith Hill will wait until the last minute to decide his team for the game with Nathan Stanton's appeal against the red card that he picked up against Aldershot on Saturday not due to be heard until 3pm this afternoon.

If the appeal is unsuccessful, Simon Ramsden is likely to come into the side at centre half. If Stanton is allowed to play Hill is unlikely to make any changes to a side that has won its last two matches.

Rochdale Online will keep you updated on news of Stanton's appeal and any news from Chester as soon as it comes through.
