Martin Brennan mastered the variable wind conditions at Hollingworth Lake on Sunday 21 April 2024. The northerly wind changed direction quite often and also in strength, from breezy to flat calm. Martin steered his Solo to win the second and third races. The first race, however, was won by Chris Massey and young daughter Annabelle in a Mirror dinghy.
The first race found Les Bithell and Emma Turner, in a Merlin Rocket, taking runner up spot narrowly ahead of young Jessica Marsh in a Topper a mere 8 seconds behind on handicap corrected time. Jessica went on to sail a consistent series with another third place and a final second.
In the second race, Jasper Bramwell found form in a Laser Radial with a second place. Our young sailors are ready to try all sorts of different dinghies!
