Rochdale lost to local rivals Oldham on Saturday 21 October after coming back from two goals down but couldn't go on to take the lead and ended up losing 4-3.

Oldham opened the scoring after 16 minutes when Nathan Sheron hit home from outside the penalty area. Oldham scored again just after half time when keeper Moulden failed to keep out a header from Green.

However, Dale drew level, firstly with a shot from Keohane that deflected in off Mitchell and then Keohane again from an East corner the dropped at his feet in the six yard box.

Oldham soon took the lead again, this time, it was Hallam Hope who beat Moulden and then Norwood made it 4-2 in the 72nd minute.

Keohane sparked an exciting finale when he scored his second with a close-range finish from another corner, but despite 16 minutes of stoppage-time, Dale were unable to draw level again.
