Sailing: Hollingworth Lake Sailing Club
Date published: 04 September 2020
There was a good turnout of boats at Hollingworth Lake on Sunday (30 August) with the Solo fleet notably adding a few more sailors.
Richard Marsh and youngest daughter Jessica, in the RS200, won the first two races of the day. In a light northerly airstream, they were able to get away and find the best track between the marks.
Martin Brennan, another expert in such conditions, was runner-up in a Solo for the first race and won the third one.
In a Phantom, Julian Parry also sailed well in these conditions, positioning third in the first race followed by two second places.
Two of the young sailors also did well in testing airs. In Toppers, Daisy Fisher came 4th in the first race and 3rd in the third one. Jasper Bramwell took 5th places in the first and third races.
Sunday’s races concluded the Summer series won by Martin Brennan in a close contest with Daisy Fisher.
