The DOJO Karate Centre Squad Winners
Children were presented with a range of trophies at the DOJO Karate Centre’s awards on Thursday 5 September.
The five children who won the most trophies were Awais Akhtar, Daniel Tarasevic, Damien Tarasevic, Diya Kerai, Lucia Walter.
The DOJO Karate Centre runs a league for its squad members throughout the year, with children competing in four events: kumite (fighting), kata (formal routines), weapons kata and self-defence techniques, according to their age groups.
Sensei Irfan Ansari, 7th Dan and national coach, said: “Some children are so talented and work so hard outside of class that they have won three events and one child, Damien Tarasevic, won all four events in his category.”
