Cricket: Heywood Cricket teams for the weekend

Date published: 24 May 2019

Four games in four days over the Bank Holiday weekend make it a hectic time for Heywood players.

Heywood Monkeys travel to take on Heyside Hyenas on Friday night (6pm) in the second match of the Marston’s T20 qualifying competition, following the recent victory over Glodwick in the opening game of the group.

Saturday sees a trip to Austerlands for the senior side as they bid to build on last weekend’s victory over Unsworth in Division 1A of the Greater Manchester League.

On Monday, the Crimble hosts the Tom Hardman T20 day, which commemorates one of the finest products of the Club’s youth system.

The four-team tournament starts with Norden v Rochdale at 10am; Heywood play Middleton at 1.30pm; and the winners face a showdown in the final at 4.45pm.

It promises to be one of the most entertaining days of the season at Crimble, with supporters of the four teams creating an enjoyable atmosphere.

A raffle on the day will raise funds for CRY (Cardiac Risk in the Young).
