JD gyms keep Henry Cooper in shape

Date published: 31 May 2017

Rochdale Cricket Club’s Henry Cooper has no excuse for not being fit this summer. The 24-year-old New Zealander is being sponsored by JD Gyms of Rochdale.

Mark Reynolds, the club’s cricket chairman, is delighted with the arrangement, he said: “This is another example of a local business helping out an amateur sports club.

"Cooper seems to be benefitting from the deal already. He has got off to a flying start in his first season as a league professional and has already posted nearly 400 runs in Rochdale’s impressive run of form, included in which was an eight wicket victory in the JW Lees Bitter Wood Cup first round match at Shaw last Saturday."
