Viridor award to Rochdale Cricket, Lacrosse and Squash Club to improve facilities

Rochdale Sports Club (Rochdale Cricket, Lacrosse and Squash Club) has been awarded £98,748 from Viridor Credits Environmental Company towards a refurbishment programme of several areas of the club and pitches.

The works are programmed to commence in the spring of 2017 and aim to be completed by the end of the year.

The refurbishment works include:

  • Upgrading all lighting within building to LED fittings and providing new boilers to provide environmentally friendly modern systems which are much cheaper to run.
  • Refurbishment of all four squash courts and male/female indoor changing rooms.
  • Refurbishment of the member’s bar.
  • Replacement/repair of all soffits/eaves/gutters and rainwater pipes.
  • Extensive drainage repairs to the pitches to increase prevent flooding and increase usage.
  • Resurfacing areas of the car park.
  • Refurbishment of the function room.
  • Redecoration of all communal areas and replacement of carpets and floor coverings to entrances and communal areas.

Rochdale Sports Club Chairman, Andrew Dodgson, said: “The club is extremely grateful to Viridor Environmental Credits Company for the funding, which will allow us to make major improvements to the club for the first time in 20 years and ensure we have first class facilities for the people of Rochdale to enjoy playing and watching cricket, lacrosse and squash for many years to come.

“This will also allow us to provide modern function rooms and conference facilities which available to all sections of the community.”
