Hornets and TBA supporting students

Date published: 11 January 2017

Rochdale Hornets has teamed up with sponsors TBA Textiles to provide a Mosaic mentoring scheme at Kingsway Park High School to help students towards a brighter future.

The club, its Sporting Foundation and TBA have joined together to deliver mentoring to 30 students, aimed at building self-confidence and supporting those taking part to become more employable.

It is another example of the work in the community Hornets does as the club seeks to provide sessions for students to benefit from in later life.

The monthly sessions will run until April, and Hornets chairman Mark Wynn is looking forward once again to working with local youngsters. He said: "This is the third year that we have worked with Kingsway Park and Mosaic and our second year with TBA.

“We really enjoy this project where we can work with both local young people and one of the major and oldest employers in the town.

“It is a real indication of how Rochdale Hornets is embedded into its town and community.”

TBA is the club’s main sponsors and the TBA logo features on the front of both home and away shirts for the 2017 season.

The Castleton based company manufactures high quality thermal and heat protection textiles and were founded in 1871, the same year as the Hornets - one of the founder clubs of the Northern Rugby Football Union.

As well as sponsoring the club, TBA also support Hornets in delivering mentoring in local schools, and have employed first team centre Jake Eccleston, who will feature at the Crown Oil Arena in 2017 after a switch from Halifax.
